And All That Jazz ... Assignment 4 Evidence


The following video's act as evidence for Assignment 4, Task 2 (C14 - Dance Development).  The highlighted parts below are evidenced in the videos below.

Task 2

Practice Run Variety show challenge!  Working as a group you will prepare, rehearse and perform in a variety show for a live audience (Cabaret on 15/03/2011):

  • As a whole class you will prepare a meeting and produce an agenda to discuss preparing an initial performance for a variety show at school, you will produce evidence of meeting in a form of notes from the meeting. 
  • With your teacher you will choreograph one substantial jazz dance, rehearse and costume your group piece for the variety.  You will log your progress in rehearsal logs.
  • Perform in the variety show, submitting evidence in form of a DVD recording of the event, copy of the programme and a blog write up that captures the event.
  • Watch the video evidence after the show and evaluate what worked and what didn’t, submitting this on your blog as a thorough evaluation and review.

The performance went really well, even though Myriam had a problem getting on the chair at one point, she carried on and noone even cared that she made a small mistake.

I really enjoyed this dance, the tiny fosse movements all added up to look very effective, much more than I had thought!

I agree, I think this is one of the best ones you have all performed. You really took on board the Fosse style and worked hard to make it look effortless.

I really enjoyed performing this! Gave as all moments to shine individually in dance breaks! Although some problems it was an enjoyable performance!

I think this had to be my favourite dance we have done as a group. I can't wait to redo it in our end of year performance making it better and slicker.
