Performing Arts (dance, drama, musical theatre) is well and truly established here at Kings Langley School and with the recent and sustained success of such events as Rock Challenge; it is making it even more accessible to students.
School Shows:
Dance works in close collaboration with the Music and Drama departments to put on some fabulous shows. Recent extravaganzas include Cindererlla (2008), Rock Challenge (since 2002) and Grease in 2008!
Our shows are a whole school event, with students from year 7-13 all working together to produce a production to be proud of. Why not stop by the hall and drama studio on a Wednesday and Thursday to us waggle our jazz hands!!
GCSE Dance:
We currently offer GCSE as an extra curricular activity on a Monday after school, where the students work practically on a variety of dance based areas such as, choreography, performance skills and good studio practice (including anatomy, physiology and health & safety.) They are expected to work independently of the lessons too, looking at different genres of dance and comparison of dance works. We hope in the near future to offer this GCSE qualification on the main curriculum.
Extra Curricular Dance:
Dance for fun with Miss Dolan and Miss Smith… come along and learn the basics in ballet, tap, jazz, street and contemporary! All years, boys and girls welcome.
Rock Challenge:
This is our ninth year of success in the national competition, with this year being the best so far! Rock Challenge is a global initiative aiming to get kids off the streets and into dance and drama. The aim of the Be Your Best Foundation is to encourage young people to lead healthy lifestyles and to be their best without the need for tobacco, alcohol or other drugs. Rock Challenge® UK is part of the Global Rock Challenge™ and is the foundation's main activity every year for promoting this cause.

Footnotes Dance Co:
Our resident gifted and talented group is an exciting endeavour here at KLS. Introducing an elite dance company for more able dancers, where we can take part in local and national competitions and festival showcases, choreographing to order! We meet and operate as a professional dance company as and when a job opportunity presents itself. Utilising all the talents of the 20 strong cast to ensure we meet the brief perfectly.
Recent performances include dancing at Platform One in October 2009.

Drama @ KLS
Drama is a very popular and innovative curriculum choice at Kings Langley School, with GCSE and AS/A2 proving very successful in examinations. 2010 results sees us with 55% of our students achieving A*/A grades and 88% A*-C. 
There are plenty of opportunities to get stuck in and 'tread the boards' with Mrs Swain's extra curricular drama clubs on a Monday (junior) and Wednesday (senior).
